Mama G's Family Pride Party!
For two years in a row Mama G has hosted her very own Family Pride Party to raise money for the Mermaids, a charity that supports gender-diverse youth, up to twenty years old, their families and the professionals that work with them.
The first event, in 2020 was digital (we all know why!) and featured an international line-up of acts including Dean Atta, Zoë Tyler, Pop 'n' Olly, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant and Lolly. The day was a marathon 12 hours and was watched by people across the globe.
For 2021 the event took place at Stanley Arts in South London and had a socially distanced in-person audience and was also broadcast via Zoom. Entertainment was provided by some of the UK's favourite entertainers including Lorraine Bowen, Lolly and Ada Campe, the venue also played host to LGBTQIA+ friendly stalls, arts and crafts, medical check ups and its very first pride parade (led by Elmer the Elephant!)
We hope to be back in 2022, but for now, why not check out the highlights from our first two events, or donate to Mermaids!
